Does anyone have an accurate definition of what a “handyman” is allowed to do in the state of NC?

Question by Will T: Does anyone have an accurate definition of what a “handyman” is allowed to do in the state of NC?
Some say I can perform any type of repairs on a property if the total amount of the work does not exceed $ 30,000 while others say I cannot perform any level of electrical, plumbing, or hvac, regardless of cost. There’s no official definition in the statutes as to what a handyman is or what scope of work they are limited to. Has anybody been down this road?
