How long has it been? Was arson suspected? Were these properly insured? Have they communicated with you in ANY WAY? What does your agent say??

You should have a claim acknowledgement within three days, and a claim number and adjuster’s name within a week.

I’m assuming this is YOUR policy we’re talking about.

Call your agent. (or better yet, go meet with them) That is what they are there for.

It should take less than a week once they have all the paperwork from you (inventory list, build costs). It could take a couple of months to get all the paperwork together.

Do you have everything submitted to the adjusters that they have asked for?? Lists of all of the items that were damaged, etc etc. The best person to call is the adjuster and ask them if they have all the paperwork necessary to handle the claim. If they tell you yes, then ask them for an estimate on when you should expect a check. People always assume that they just have to call and turn in the claim and sit back and wait for a check. It takes people months to turn in all the right documentation and then they get mad at the insurance company because it is taking so long.
