@DOLRED Also never try to force the saw back on cut line if you happen to get off, instead back up with the saw and try to aim to realign the cut. this is the most common mistake that I see while teaching a shop class at a high school. If you have not already watched the work safe video “Circular Saw Kickback” watch it it contains a great illustration as to what happens when cutting wood.

When u were ripping shouldn’t the wood you’re cutting be clamped in place so you would be using both hands on the saw?
